BP42 - Optimize steam system

Address: Soc Trang province
Name of the Manager: Ashton Chang
Project Summary: In response to an energy efficiency program of Adidas brand, a cloths production enterprise in Soc Trang has implemented energy saving solutions for the electric boiler system. The program objective is to reduce energy costs and greenhouse-gas (GHG) emission
Year of implementation: 2018

Status before implementation

The operating pressure of the factory’s electric boiler system was about 4-6 kgf/cm2, much higher than the demand.

Electric boiler and its operating pressure before implementation

In addition, the boiler valves and pipes were not insulated, thereby increasing the heat loss into the surrounding environment.

Result

The plant has implemented solutions to optimize the steam system by reducing the pressure setting (about 3 bar) and conducting the insulation of current valves and pipes.
