Project Summary: A ceramics producing enterprise in Binh Duong Province has installed an variable speed drive (VSD) for the air blowers to reduce the operation frequency of the blower and save the energy consumption of the wastewater treatment system.

Status before implementation

The plant used two (2) air blowers (5.5 kW/unit) in the wastewater treatment area.

The factory operated air blowers at fixed capacity. However, normally the blower operation is based on the oxygen concentration in the conditioning tank. If the DO concentration in the tank is large, it is possible to reduce the speed of the blower motor, provide the required amount of oxygen, and at the same time reduce the power consumption of the blower.

After installation, the current operating frequency of the blower is 12.6 Hz.

The average working capacity of air blowers is 6.9 kW.
